Benavides

General Notes
- It is believed by some that the name Benavides originates from Hebrew or Arabic from the name Ben Avid . Ben as we all know means "son of" and Avid means "servant". Some say that it may mean Son of the Servant (of God).
  I believe that the name may have evolved once this person arrived in Spain. Perhaps the "es" was added later when someone would call a Benavides. Maybe they said it in this way: de Ben Avid es. Meaning; he belongs to Ben Avid.
